PROFESSIONAL
MEDICAL – Board certified Family Practice and Internal Medicine physicians and medical professionals are trained to recognize, diagnose, treat and educate patients on a wide range of symptoms and conditions. We also provide medical services for the entire family. We also provide Referrals, Family Planning, Hospitalization, Drug Screening, Laboratory Testing, Commercial Driver License Physicals, X-rays, Kid-Med, Physicals and Immunizations.
 
DENTAL – The Dentistry Department specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of oral disease and disorders. Our staff also educates patients on proper oral care and establishes specialized treatment plans. Services include family dentistry, cleanings, bridges, crowns, dentures, bonding, fillings, extractions and dental sealants for children. The dental department also provides in-school mobile dental screening and sealants  to children with 6 and 12 year molars.
 
OPTOMETRY – Board Certified Optometrist examines the eyes and properly fit patients with glasses or contact lenses. Services provided are eye exams, lens prescription, cataract and glaucoma screenings. The Sight for Students program provides free eye exams and glasses to eligible school aged children with no other insurance.
 
LICENSED PATIENT PHARMACY – The Patient Pharmacy is licensed for DRCHC patients only and will provide up to 60% discount on prescription pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications. A full time pharmacist is available for medication consultation.
 
BEHAVIORIAL HEALTH - Behavioral health is an outpatient service that provides supportive mental health care services, assessments and referrals for both adolescents and adults.  The service enables patients to develop mechanisms to cope, grow and develop as healthier individuals and families.
 
EXPERIENCED
IMMUNIZATIONS – All immunizations for children under age 18 are free. Parents/guardians are required to bring in immunization records for verification. Flu shots are free for all patients 62 and older.
 
KIDMED – A screening component of the Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment Program. This program provides medical, vision and hearing screenings for low-income families. Medicaid-eligible children and youth up to age 21 are eligible for KIDMED services.
 
WIC – A special nutritional program for women, infants and children (up to age 5) providing a food package, nutrition education and referrals for other health services. WIC (free to the client) serves pregnant, breast-feeding and postpartum women, infants and preschool children.
 
DENTAL SEALANT – David Raines Community Health Centers established Louisiana’s first in-school dental sealant program. This service began at Oil City Elementary School in 2004. DRCHC provides the dentists, supplies and equipment . The children receive exams and sealants with no out of pocket cost to the parent.  In 2007 a Mobile Dental Van was purchased to facilitate seamless dental sealant services.
 
MEDICAID ENROLLMENT – DRCHC is a state approved Medicaid application center. Medicaid is an insurance system for the entire family funded by the state and federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Families or individuals that are at or below the poverty level would qualify for Medicaid Services.
 
LaCHIP ENROLLMENT – Louisiana Children’s Health Insurance Plan is for children from birth to age 19 or upon graduation from High School. This total health care program is strictly for children with no other insurance. LaCHIP uses higher income levels and has fewer requirements than other Medicaid Programs.
 
LaMOMS ENROLLMENT – No-cost health coverage for pregnant women who qualify (proof of income and delivery date required). You can have other insurance coverage with this program. Prescriptions, doctor visits, lab, hospital care, delivery and care up to 60 days after delivery are covered.
 
SIGHT for STUDENTS – Provided through Vision Services, an entertainment industry foundation program to help low income children obtain vision care. The program provides free eye exams and free glasses to qualified students without Medicaid or other insurance coverage.
 
TRANSPORTATION – DRCHC offers free wheel-chair accessible transportation to the health centers for services. Transportation arrangements must be made at least two (2) days in advance.
